This 24th century starship is built out of Excelsior and
Constitution-class components.
"Shelley-class" is the unofficial nickname for this vessel named after Frankenstein author, Mary Shelley.
This vessel is also referred to as Curry-class due to the USS Curry NCC-45617 named after Dan Curry, visual
effects producer who has claimed its registry is NCC-42254.
There is another vessel, similar to the Shelley-class which is depicted in the DS9:Technical Manual, the
Raging Queen NCC-42284 (with no USS). It was previously believed the DS9:TM image poorly protrayed the
Shelley-class, however it more clearly resembles the Raging Queen model.
